Survivor-Led Zine
Every May, we commemorate Victims and Survivors of Crime Week. In 2025, we marked 20 years of VASOCW with the creation of a zine, made possible with support from the Department of Justice.
Historically, zines have been an outlet for marginalized groups to express themselves, explore ideas, celebrate art, and organize their communities. We wanted to create a resource that was for survivors, by survivors.
From our frontline knowledge, we know survivors have a powerful voice. With this resource, we wanted to provide a platform for survivors to speak their truth and provide hope and comfort to others going through similar experiences.
R&R: Resistance and Resilience is a collection of stories, poems, and art from over 20 survivors. We are thrilled to share this resource and are truly humbled by the courageous voices who contributed to this zine.
